Biography:

Toru Takahashi started his career at Marubeni Corporation, where he was primarily involved in developing the overseas businesses of machinery manufacturers. For eight years, he participated in infrastructure development projects in Iran, as well as a wide range of businesses at Marubeni’s EMEA headquarters in Belgium. His duties included supporting globally expanding companies by launching new projects, providing management support, and financing investments and business partners.

In 2002, Toru joined GLOBIS University to support human resources development for corporate clients. Committed to developing local leaders in various countries, he led efforts to expand GLOBIS’s overseas business activities by establishing GLOBIS China, GLOBIS Asia Pacific, and GLOBIS Thailand. In 2022, he spearheaded the launch of GLOBIS Europe, where he works to expand the business in the EMEA region as global chief strategy officer.

Toru graduated from Sophia University with a degree in economics and completed the Stanford Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He earned his PhD in Management from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. Toru has authored the book People Who Get Results Overseas Don’t Use Cultural Issues as Excuses and co-authored GLOBIS MBA Management Book 2.
