Biography:

Darren brings his expertise in the private and public sectors to help individuals and organizations create value by more effectively collaborating, communicating, and creating remotely or across cultures. His mission and passion are to help others get better at creating and communicating their ideas, to create value for all.

As Lead of Global Employee Engagement at Ricoh Co. Ltd., Darren heads initiatives to build stronger global teams, create a stronger corporate culture, and boost collaboration among Ricoh’s 85,000 employees in over 65 countries. At GLOBIS, Darren teaches courses on Business Presentation, Critical Thinking, Design Thinking, and Innovation Through Virtual Teams to international MBA students. He also trains company leaders as part of GLOBIS Corporate Education.

Darren is a contributing writer for Forbes and Fast Company and has been a TEDx speaker. As part of the IDEO U Teaching Team, he teaches Storytelling and Design Thinking.

Before moving to Tokyo in 2011, he spent over 20 years working for the Canadian federal government. His career there encompassed diplomacy, business development, and building public-private-academia partnerships in the Canadian innovation ecosystem.
