This is a career and personal development workshop featuring Filipino students from GLOBIS University, Japan’s No. 1 MBA. These inspiring professionals will share the pivotal moments, challenges, and lessons that shaped their careers.
In today’s rapidly changing world, career paths are no longer linear. Emerging technologies, evolving industries, and shifting workplace expectations require professionals to continuously learn, adapt, and grow.
“Designing Your Growth Journey: Finding Purpose in a Changing World” is a career and personal development workshop featuring, Ely Apao, Katie Silva, and Kissa Alejandro, alongside Kendall Spencer Abat (Ken), who will be facilitating the session. All are Filipino students from GLOBIS University, Japan’s No. 1 MBA. These inspiring professionals will share the pivotal moments, challenges, and lessons that shaped their careers.
Through engaging discussions, personal reflection, and meaningful conversations, participants will gain practical insights to help them navigate their own growth journeys with greater clarity and purpose.

Ely Apao
Speaker
Ely Apao is a UX and product leader with 15+ years designing digital products used by millions of people. In the Philippines, he led a 16-person UX team at Home Credit and headed customer experience at JG Summit Holdings, one of the country’s largest conglomerates. He also founded UX Philippines, the country’s biggest design community. In 2025 he moved to Tokyo for a full-time MBA at GLOBIS University, which he recently completed while taking on a strategy internship at Panasonic Connect. Today he works where design, business, and AI meet.

Katie Silva
Speaker
Katie Silva is an experienced banking professional with more than 15 years of leadership experience in Global Banking & Markets. Her expertise includes payment lifecycle management, Nostro operations, ISO 20022 migration, operational excellence, and leading multicultural teams across APAC and Europe.
Currently pursuing her full-time MBA at GLOBIS University, Katie is passionate about leadership, continuous learning, and developing high performing teams. Outside of work, she enjoys football, scuba diving, running, and traveling across Japan, while actively engaging with the GLOBIS community.

Kissa Alejandro
Speaker
Maria Kissa Alejandro, CPA, is a finance executive with over a decade of experience in audit, tax compliance, and controllership. She started her career with SGV & Co., where she specialized in tax compliance and audit, before advancing into finance leadership roles. Throughout her career, she has led finance transformation initiatives and helped organizations strengthen taxation and financial processes through process optimization and implementation of stronger controls.
Kissa is currently pursuing a part-time and online MBA at GLOBIS University while continuing her full-time career in finance. Outside work, Kissa enjoys traveling and discovering new cultures, often planning her trips around architecture and local history.

Kendall Spencer Abat (Ken)
Facilitator
Kendall Spencer Abat (Ken) is a business consultant who has previously worked as a Senior Research Executive at the Philippine Survey and Research Center (PSRC), where he helped organizations translate consumer and market insights into strategic business decisions. Prior to this, he began his career in Human Resources at the Philippine Military Academy (PMMA), building a foundation in people development before transitioning into research and strategy. Beyond his corporate role, Ken has also served as an academic writing consultant, mentoring high school and university students from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, while also exploring opportunities in education and digital content creation.
Throughout his career, Ken has been driven by a passion for understanding people, developing potential, and translating ideas into meaningful impact. He believes that empowering Filipinos through education and leadership is one of the most meaningful ways to contribute to nation-building. Currently pursuing his MBA at GLOBIS University, he believes that the most fulfilling careers are not simply built through opportunity, but intentionally designed through continuous learning, reflection, and purposeful growth.
